
5 Healthy Quarantine Breakfast
Because of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, people have already stocked up their food supplies so they don’t need to go to the grocery or market every often where the COVID-19 virus can easily be transmitted. Even though most of us have enough stock of food that could last for at least a month, one of the hardest things to do during lockdown is to decide on what you will be eating the next day. Seeing a lot of food stocks in your cabinet and fridge can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what recipe you’ll be trying out next. You have enough eggs, meat, onions, garlic, bread, rice and more but don’t really know what you’ll be making out of them. Why not use your food stocks to make a healthy breakfast? Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and even though you’re staying at home, you still need the energy to accomplish household chores and even your deliverables for work that you’ll be doing at home. Here are some healthy breakfast recipes that you can try out during your home quarantine: MILKY FRENCH TOAST What you need: 1. 3 pcs. of bread 2. 1 large egg 3. ½ butter 4. ¼ of whole milk 5. Vanilla extract 6. Preferred syrup (maple, chocolate, strawberry) 7. Preferred fruits (mango, banana, strawberry) What you need to do: 1. Mix egg, vanilla extract and milk in a bowl. 2. Dip bread in mixture, make sure to dip both sides. 3. Heat the pan and use butter as oil. 4. Place the bread on the pan with low to medium heat until both sides turned brown. 5. Top it with your preferred fruit and pour preferred syrup. CORNED BEEF WITH BREAD AND EGG What you need: 1. 1 can of corned beef 2. ½ of chopped onions 3. Minced garlic 4. Pinch of salt 5. 2 small chopped potatoes 6. 1 large egg 7. Preferred Bread What you need to do: 1. In a large pan over medium heat, preheat it with at least 3 tablespoons of oil. 2. Fry the chopped potatoes and set aside when cooked. 3. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil. Add the minced garlic and saute until light brown. 4. Add the corned beef and return the chopped potatoes then mix. Let it simmer. 5. Add the chopped onions and a pinch of salt then mix all the ingredients. 6. After the corned beef, crack the egg on the pan and add a pinch of salt. 7. When everything is cooked, place your bread on the pan for at least 2 minutes to toast it. TUNA EGG SPREAD What you need: 1. 3-4 tablespoon of mayonnaise. 2. 6 medium size egg 3. 1 can of tuna 4. 2 pinches of salt 5. 2 pinches of pepper (powdered) 6. 2 pinches of garlic powder (optional) What you need to do: 1. Slice eggs in small portions. 2. Put 3-4 tablespoon of mayonnaise in a mixing bowl. 3. Mix sliced eggs in the mayonnaise. 4. Open can of tuna and mix it with the slice eggs. 5. Add 2 pinches of salt then mix. 6. Add 2 pinches of pepper (powdered) then mix. 7. Add 2 pinches of garlic powder then mix (optional). CHEESY BACON AND EGG What you need: 1. ¼ butter 2. ½ small cheese bar 3. ½ cup of fresh milk 4. Seasoning sauce 5. 1 tablespoon of sugar 6. 1 pinch of salt 7. Bacon 8. 1 large egg What you need to do: 1. Melt the butter in a medium pan over low heat. 2. When butter is already melted, add the cheese and mix when already melted. 3. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and milk then mix. When it is already smooth, set aside. 4. Fry the bacon base on preference. 5. Fry the egg afterwards and add a pinch of salt. 6. Top bacon over rice, same with egg. Pour the creamy cheese sauce on bacon. There are actually a lot of recipes you can try during the quarantine period. It is best to be resourceful and be creative on how to consume all of your quarantine food so nothing will get wasted.
